My project is using ‘extreme life’ on Earth to help the search for life in our solar system, and beyond! This involves looking at harsh environments on our own planet, such as the freezing Arctic, and seeing how life can survive these environments. The kind of life that we find can tell us more about what we might expect to find on other planets (or moons).
I think that you and your friend’s idea is a great one – I would love to do that! A whole museum dedicated to the search for life in the universe would be amazing! The great thing about my subject of study, astrobiology, is that it uses so many different areas of science. Biologists, physicists, chemists, engineers, geologists and many, many other scientists come together to make this one subject work. And I think that would make for a really interesting museum. Good idea!
