There are loads of different types of scientist but there is one thing that they all did – they went to university!

If you want to be a scientist, it really helps to go to university and study something that you’re interested in. The most important part is that you are interested in the subject you choose. I think the easiest way to be a scientist is to learn more about the part of science that you are naturally interested in.

I didn’t decide I wanted to be a scientist until I was at university! My advice would be to think about what part of science is most exciting to you – that’s what I did. At university I realised I really like looking at plants and finding out how they work.

After my first university, I wanted to look at plants more so I went to another university that had more people who were interested in plants like me. So, after you’ve decided which part of science you like, find out which universities in the UK (or the world!) have the best teachers for you, and go there!

I hope this helps to answer your question. Mixing potions sounds fun! Have you mixed a lot of potions at school?
